San Juan Capistrano in the morning

This morning I decided to hit the road early and get some morning photos at San Juan.

The colors in the sky were glorious today. I enjoyed the contrast of the cloud colors with the aged stones and adobe in the mission. I especially love this little statue in front of the chapel.

The ruins around the various missions move me more than I can say. I love to wander among them and think of the lives of the people who lived behind these ruined walls. It is a deep and spiritual connection with the past for me.

These buildings are always closed to the public. I assume they are in use by the parish that holds religious services in the chapel.
